Integrity is built in, not added on.
The quality of a carbon credit is set long before it is issued. It depends on choices made at the start: the land, the method, the baseline, the rights and the people involved. We make those choices carefully and document them, so they can be checked.
01
Identify
We screen land and partners against clear criteria: carbon potential, eligibility, tenure, access and community interest.
02
Assess
We test the opportunity in detail, including field data, baseline, likely yields, risks and a realistic timeline to first credits.
03
Structure
We agree roles, rights and governance with the project owner and community, and design for permanence.
04
Prepare
We build the model, the diligence material and the reporting framework that funders and buyers will rely on.
05
Manage
We oversee delivery, monitoring and verification for the life of the project, and report openly on progress.
Our principles
Recognised standards
We design projects for registration under recognised compliance schemes or independent standards. We also aim to meet emerging integrity benchmarks such as the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market's Core Carbon Principles and, where relevant, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
Independent verification
Credits are issued only after independent audit and approval by the regulator or registry.
Conservative estimates
We model carbon yields conservatively and show the assumptions behind them.
Permanence from day one
Projects carry obligations that last for decades. We plan the governance and funding to meet them.
Free, prior and informed consent
Where a project involves Indigenous peoples or local communities, we seek their free, prior and informed consent. We keep them involved in decisions that affect their land.

Partnership with Indigenous peoples and local communities
Many of the world's most important carbon landscapes are cared for by Indigenous peoples and local communities. Their knowledge makes projects better, and their consent makes projects possible. We build every partnership on that basis.
